Jenna Genereaux is a Ferris State University Master in Social Work student intern who has been touched my many events including facing the foster care system as both a child and foster parent. These experiences have lead her towards her professional interests. As a loving caregiver and sister to a brother who was diagnosed with and later died from RET syndrome, she knew she wanted to become a social worker with a focus on individuals and families facing terminal illness.
She developed an educational focus on family dynamics and began working with a local middle school to gain experience. With chronic illness being a reason for anxiety, stress and depression, it was also important to gain experience working with individuals facing these barriers.
Her work with individuals who have faced domestic violence also gave Jenna a experience with various forms of trauma and distress as they are experienced.
Jenna is offering free individual counselling services along with groups working with those experiencing anxiety and depression to further her skills working with people with a wide range of human experience.
